The Research Management Centre (RMC) is pleased to announce the opening of the Product Innovation and Development Grant (PIDG) to support researchers at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This grant is designed to facilitate the development of innovative products with strong commercial potential and meaningful societal impact.

Grant Details and Guidelines:

Eligibility: Open to all IIUM academic staff and researchers with active employment status.

Focus Areas: Projects must focus on product innovation and development, especially in areas aligned with market relevance and commercialization prospects.

Technology Readiness Level (TRL): Projects must demonstrate a minimum TRL of 3 and above.

Grant Duration: Up to 24 months from the date of award.

Funding Ceiling: A maximum of RM40,000 per project.

Application Process: Submission must include a detailed proposal covering objectives, methodology, expected outcomes, and commercialization strategies.

Evaluation: Proposals will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, societal/commercial impact, and commercialization potential.

Pitching Session: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a pitching session to present their ideas.

Expected Outputs: Product prototypes, IP filings, commercialization plans, and a minimum of (1) ONE publication.

Submission Deadline: All applications must be submitted via RMSV2 by Friday, 6th June 2025, with NO further extension.
