

The session convened representatives from Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) across universities, private institutions, and the Medical Research and Ethics Committee (MREC) to foster collaboration, align processes, and elevate ethical standards in clinical research.
Key highlights included updates on the ASEAN Bioethics Seminar, the Biotechnology Ethics Guidelines issued by Majlis Bioetika Negara (MBeN), the latest regulatory developments from the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), and ethical considerations in Controlled Human Infection Model (CHIM) studies. The forum also explored the current landscape and challenges surrounding ethics in oncology research.
The meeting concluded with leadership updates from NERCIM and a collective reaffirmation to strengthen partnerships and uphold the integrity and quality of clinical research in Malaysia.
