Congratulations to Dr. Nur Nadiah Abdul Rashid

The Research Unit for Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (RUBIC) proudly congratulates our Lab Manager, Dr. Nur Nadiah Abdul Rashid, on the successful completion of her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Science from the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
She officially received her doctorate during the IIUM Convocation Ceremony on 6 December 2025, marking a significant milestone in her academic and professional journey. With the conferment of this degree, she is now Dr. Nur Nadiah Abdul Rashid, currently serving at the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), IIUM.
During her doctoral studies, Dr. Nur Nadiah Abdul Rashid specialised in the in silico design and optimisation of aptamers for biodiagnostic applications. Her research applied advanced computational and bioinformatics approaches, including aptamer structure prediction, molecular modelling, and docking simulations, to identify high-affinity and highly specific aptamer candidates against selected biomolecular targets. This strategy enabled efficient virtual screening and rational optimisation prior to experimental validation, providing a cost-effective and time-efficient framework for biodiagnostic development. In recognition of her outstanding academic performance and research excellence, Dr. Nur Nadiah was awarded the Best Student Award during the IIUM Convocation Ceremony on 6 December 2025. Her achievement reflects both her scholarly excellence and her strong contribution to the advancement of computational diagnostics.
Beyond her academic achievement, Dr. Nur Nadiah has been a cornerstone of RUBIC, contributing immensely to laboratory management, research coordination, and student mentorship. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to research excellence have played an important role in strengthening the unit’s research culture and operational efficiency.
To celebrate this achievement, a small gathering was held together with her supervisory team from the Kulliyyah of Science, reflecting the strong interdisciplinary support and collegial spirit that underpin research at IIUM.
RUBIC extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Nur Nadiah and wishes her continued success and impact in academia, research, and service to the ummah.
“Indeed, Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees.”
— Surah Al-Mujādilah (58:11)
Once again, tahniah and well done, Dr. Nur Nadiah! 🌟
