Molecular Docking Workshop at UniSZA (10–11 September 2025)

The Research Unit for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (RUBIC) is pleased to share that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azzmer Azzar, Coordinator of RUBIC, was invited by the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) to conduct a Molecular Docking Workshop held from 10–11 September 2025.
Over one and a half days, Dr. Azzmer introduced participants to the fundamentals of molecular docking, covering essential concepts, workflows, and tools commonly used in in silico drug discovery. The workshop was attended by an enthusiastic group of lecturers, postdoctoral researchers, and postgraduate students, who actively took part in hands-on sessions and interactive discussions.
The session provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas, and strengthening academic collaboration between IIUM and UniSZA. It also marked Dr. Azzmer’s first official visit to UniSZA, where he received warm hospitality and engaged in meaningful academic networking.
RUBIC looks forward to future collaborations with UniSZA, including plans for an advanced in silico workshop and joint research initiatives in molecular modelling and computational biology.
We extend our appreciation to UniSZA for the invitation and for making the workshop a rewarding and memorable experience.
