We are pleased to announce that the IIUM COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH INITIATIVE GRANT SCHEME is now officially open!!
 
This grant scheme serves as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration among academia,  industry, and international institutions, empowering IIUM academic staff to undertake high-impact that delivers meaningful and tangible outcomes.
 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
 
1. Who can apply?
 
Open to all IIUM academic staff!  Priority will be given to applicants with a recorded external grant application in the RMC Research Application Record.
 
2. Collaborator Requirements
  • Must at least TWO (2) research partners (local/international) from any of the following entities: Universities, Industries, or Agencies.
  • The application must include a written commitment from collaborating partners for the allocation of funds and not in-kind for the research project.
  • The application must be submitted together with a ready draft of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for collaborative research with Malaysian entities acknowledging their participation and institutional commitment.

3. Budget Allocated

The maximum funding allocated and approved for each project is capped at RM 20,000.00, payable to the IIUM Principal Researcher.

4. RESEARCH OUTPUT

  • Two (2) journal articles indexed in Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus
  • A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) or Research Collaboration Agreement

DURATION

  • 2 Years

APPLICATION

2) The application must be submitted together with a ready draft of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for collaborative research with Malaysian entities, acknowledging their participation and commitment. For international collaborative partners, drafts of Letter of Agreement (LA), Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) may be submitted.  Kindly  DOWNLOAD  the documents for further reference and utilization.

3) Application shall include at least two (2) IIUM co-researchers who are experts in the field of study.
