RUBIC members extend their congratulations to Dr. Ahmad Tarmizi Che Has for successfully completing his research attachment at RUBICLE, Kulliyyah of Science, IIUM. Dr. Tarmizi, a Neuroscientist from the Department of Neuroscience at USM Kubang Kerian, received training from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azzmer Azzar and Dr. Khairul Bariyyah in Protein Modeling, Molecular Docking, and Membrane Simulation. Throughout the attachment, Dr. Tarmizi accomplished the following modules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Protein 3D structure modeling of the pentameric GABA receptor using Modeller.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Molecular binding affinity of the GABA receptor with bioactive compounds using Autodock Vina.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Molecular Dynamics Simulation of the GABA Receptor in a bound state, integrated with the human membrane system using Gromacs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Molecular Visualization of the 3D protein and binding interactions using PyMOL and PLIP.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    We hope that the knowledge shared during this six-month attachment will greatly benefit Dr. Tarmizi, especially in his Neuroscience research.
